OR AMP, in partnership with the OSU LSAMP program have implemented LSAMP STEP, a new program piloting strategies to better serve sophomore and transfer URM STEM students at Oregon State University. Cohort based programming will introduce participants to a network of on-campus resources, provide intrusive academic counseling, and facilitate opportunities for students to develop stronger identities as scientists and engineers.
LSAMP STEP Retreats - Programming will primarily be delivered through a series of retreats, offered once per term. Retreats will include guest speakers, workshops, community building activities, and other programs determined through a survey of participant needs. Retreat dates are the following:
Academic Counseling - Participants will meet once per term with either the Director of OR-AMP or the LSAMP Coordinator for academic counseling. Topics that will be addressed will be academic success and resources, career exploration, interest in undergraduate research and internships, etc.
